King Charles and Queen Camilla's "personal devotion" to each other has "touched" the hearts of the nation and has positively influenced their popularity, according
to a PR expert. Since their marriage in 2005, their obvious closeness and Camilla's steadfast dedication to her husband and her royal duty have seen their reputation, particularly the
Queen Consort's, markedly improve. Data from Statista has shown that public opinion of Camilla has gradually become more positive over the past few years, hitting a significant high of
55 percent in September 2022 following Queen Elizabeth's death. Ed Coram-James, chief executive of Go Up, told Express.co.uk that being seen together as a couple has helped the King and
Queen Consort as it "softens" their image. He said: "Both [Charles and Camilla] were, at one point, very unpopular figures. But, because they have stayed out of controversy
and worked hard at their duties, the view has softened and they are now popular. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATSAPP COMMUNITY TO BE THE FIRST TO RECEIVE NEWS ABOUT THE ROYAL FAMILY
"Crucially, the public has come to support their marriage and, dare I say it, the majority are even touched by their personal devotion to one another. "I definitely think that
Camilla softens Charles. She is less relatable than Kate, and so the softness doesn’t necessarily come from her character but more from the closeness of the relationship that the two share.
"The public likes to see people in close relationships. Again, it is relatable and it brings softness and humanity, even to kings." He added that their commitment to each other
showcases Charles's maturity and consistency, "two very important characteristics for a King. They are better balanced as a pair, more relatable as a pair and softer as a
pair". The expert pointed out the similarities in their relationship to Prince William and Princess Kate, who are also able to use their complementary traits for maximum impact while on
royal outings. Mr Coram-James said of the Waleses: "I would argue that, whereas William is naturally relatable and human, he does weigh slightly stronger towards the Kingly side than
the human side. Kate, on the other hand, appears Queenly, but errs slightly more to the human side. "William, by association, makes Kate appear more royal and Kate, by association,
makes William appear more human. Put the two together and, wham, you have the perfect balance between kingly and human."
