Dr. La-Kenya Rushing, DHA, MSN, RN, was named Acting Associate Director of Patient Care Services TVHS on May 2025. Tennessee Valley Health Care System has appointed Dr. La-Kenya Rushing as

Acting Associate Director of Patient Care Services. She has been with Tennessee Valley Health Care System since June 2024, most recently serving as Deputy, Associate Director for Patient

Care Services (Nashville) until now. Dr. Rushing's association with TVHS began in 2023, when she served as Acting, ADPCS for a three-month rotation.  Dr. Rushing began her federal

career with VHA in 2014 at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVCHS). Her first role in SLVCHS was as a Home Telehealth Care Manager and she progressed through many

administrative positions, including Primary Care Nurse Manager, Specialty Care Nurse Manager, Associate Nurse Executive, and Acting, Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services. In

June 2022, she joined Gulf Coast Veterans Healthcare System as the Deputy, Associate Director of Patient Care Services. Dr. Rushing is a Louisiana native with nearly 30 years of nursing

experience in a variety of specialties and administrative roles. She belongs to the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society,

the American Nurses Association, and the Louisiana State Nurses Association. She earned her doctorate in Health Care Administration from Virginia University-Lynchburg.  In her leisure Dr.

Rushing enjoys spending quality time with her grandson, daughter, family, and friends.
