Baccalaureate Registered Nursing Residency Program comes as no surprise. What may come as a surprise, it is the first such program to receive accreditation in Washington State. “VA Puget
Sound has strong and mutually beneficial partnership with leading schools of nursing, offering nurses innovative and progressive training,” said VA Puget Sound Post Baccalaureate Nurse
Residency Program Co-Director Marie Therese Timbol-Padriga. “Our new nursing residency program builds on our passion to learn and power to heal." “While all residency programs offer
nurses the opportunity to care for patients, only at the VA do they have the opportunity to care for our nation’s heroes, the veterans we serve,” added Timbol-Padriga. Commission on
Collegiate Nursing Education is an autonomous accrediting agency, contributing to the improvement of the public's health. The Commission strives to promote the quality and integrity of
baccalaureate, graduate, and residency/fellowship programs in nursing. VA Puget Sound’s new Post Baccalaureate Registered Nurse Residency Program is a 12-month residency program (366 days)
is for new graduate registered nurses interested in transitioning to primary care nurse manager roles. The program transitions first year nurses from an academic to practice setting in a
mentored environment with the depth, breadth, volume, and intensity of clinical training necessary to serve as a proficient registered nurses in acute and ambulatory care. The application
deadline is April 28, 2023, for the 2023-2024 nurse residency program that begins August 1, 2023. The program includes competitive stipend, government health care plans (options for dental
and life insurance), 10 paid holidays and participate accrue paid annual vacation and sick leave at a rate of 4 hours every two-week pay period. For questions and information about the Post
