THE ONE-OFF BONUS PAYMENT WILL SEE OVER FOUR MILLION CURRENT ACCOUNT CUSTOMERS GET A SHARE OF AROUND £400 MILLION LAUREN HAUGHEY Lifestyle and Money Reporter and CLAIRE SCHOFIELD 16:04, 31

May 2025 Nationwide Building Society is set to distribute free £100 payments to qualifying customers next month as part of its 'Fairer Share' scheme. The one-off bonus will benefit

over four million current account holders and share around £400 million. This benefit comes after the building society announced profits amounting to £2.3 billion for the year ending March

31, 2025. It marks the third consecutive year Nationwide has issued this bonus, resulting in payouts exceeding £1 billion to eligible customers since 2023. The Fairer Share initiative was

established to reward customers who bank with the building society by allowing them to enjoy a portion of the profits, provided they meet certain criteria. Regrettably, not all Nationwide

customers will qualify for the £100 payment, as was the case in 2023 and 2024, according to the Express. To be eligible, Nationwide has confirmed that you must have one of the following: * A

qualifying current account and qualifying savings * A qualifying current account and a qualifying mortgage To have a qualifying current account, it must have been opened by March 31, 2025.

If you did not have an active Nationwide current account on that date, you will not qualify. You must also have used your current account during the first three months of the year.

Meanwhile, to have an eligible savings account, you need to have maintained a minimum balance of £100 in one or more personal savings accounts or cash ISAs with Nationwide for at least one

day during March 2025. READ MORE: BBC Dragons' Den Sara Davies has healthy 'mini Magnums' recipe with 4 ingredientsREAD MORE: ITV Love Island's Gabby Allen says her

'wonky' appearance gave rise to diagnosis Finally, to have a qualifying mortgage, you must have owed a minimum of £100 on your Nationwide residential mortgage by March 31, 2025.

Those who do not meet these criteria will be ineligible for the £100 bonus payment in June. However, if you do qualify, Nationwide intends to distribute the £100 payment to all qualified

customers between June 18, 2025, and July 4, 2025. The building society said: "We will pay the money into your Nationwide current account by electronic transfer. If you hold more than

one current account with us, we may pay the money into any of those accounts. We will pay the money into an account in your sole name if you have one and will pay it into a joint account if

you do not. "The payment will appear on your current account statement as Nationwide Fairer Share Payment. We will not make the payment in any other way and if you do not have an open

Nationwide current account when we try to make the payment, you will not be eligible to receive it." It added: "We will decide whether you are eligible for the payment based on the

information we hold about you and the products you have with us. We always do our best to ensure that the information is accurate and complete, but incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date

information may mean we wrongly exclude you from the payment. "We will make the payment if we find out you were wrongly excluded, but we will not be liable for any other loss you may

incur if this happens. We also cannot guarantee how quickly an application for a qualifying product might be completed and therefore will not be responsible if you miss out on the payment

because of a delay in opening a relevant product. Article continues below "If, after checking your eligibility, you think you have been wrongly excluded, please get in touch and if we

have got it wrong, we will take steps to put it right."
