Superstore in Mossley Hill.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We have charged a Walton man with multiple theft offences following incidents at a charity clothing bank in Mossley Hill.
"Yesterday, Tuesday May 20, officers detained a man who was allegedly stealing clothes from the Salvation Army clothing bank outside Tesco supermarket on Mather Avenue."
Graham Hyland, of Cherry Lane in Walton, was arrested and has now been charged with five counts of theft. He will appear at Liverpool Adult Remand Court tomorrow, May 22.
The theft allegations relate to multiple incidents reported to have happened in February and May at the same location. Enquiries are ongoing, police said.
Article continues below Detective Constable Lee Hearne said: "We will thoroughly investigate all reports in which we suspect businesses and charities are being targeted, utilising CCTV and
other means to gather evidence.
"Clothes and food banks do a great deal of good in our communities, so anyone who has information in relation to theft offences, please come forward and we will take action."
