Days after raising funds for Indian NGO Child Rights and You (CRY) to counter racism among his fans, YouTuber PewDiePie has landed himself in yet another soup. He gave a shout out to what
later turned out to be a racist, antisemitic channel, ‘EsemicolonR’. In his video titled ‘DON’T subscribe to PiewDiePie’, which is a play on the running gag ‘SUBSCRIBE TO PEWDIEPIE’ among
YouTubers and his fans campaigning for him, he lists a number of lesser known channels that deserve subscribers. ‘E;R’ was part of this list. > You also have E;R, who does great video
essays. He did one on Death > Note, which I really, really enjoyed. Felix Kjellberg AKA PewDiePie E;R is known to have posted racist, sexist and even ableist content in their channel.
Naturally this video of PewDiePie sparked a controversy. PEWDIEPIE CALLS LILLY SINGH A ‘CRY BABY’ In the same video PewDiePie also makes fun of Indian Canadian YouTuber Lilly Singh for
tweeting about the dearth of women on Forbes Most Paid YouTubers list. He called her an ‘idiot’ for thinking the lack of women on the top paid list to be a gender issue. He also pointed out
how Singh cited mental health issues to take a break from YouTube but was seen endorsing products and brands. He went to the extent of calling her a ‘cry baby’ for citing issues with the
list. To this ||Superwoman|| AKA Lilly Singh responded with this tweet. > If you have a mean thought, you donât have to say it. Even if > you donât like the person, you donât
have to say it. You > donât need to put that energy into the world. Be selective with > your battles. Reserve your energy for the real fights. â¤ï¸ > — Lilly Singh
(@IISuperwomanII) December 9, 2018 ICYMI, T-SERIES VS PEWDIEPIE IS STILL ON For those have been living under a rock, PewDiePie is amid a long drawn subscription battle with the Indian music
label T-Series that has the Internet more or less divided. It has started the ‘Subscribe to PewDiePie’ meme and even hackers are willing to use whatever means to help PiewDiePie retain his
title as the most subscribed channel. Published: 11 Dec 2018, 2:51 PM IST
