COWLISHAW Wendy Cowlishaw, a brilliant educator, devoted mother, and vibrant soul, moved on peacefully on Wednesday, 21st May 2025, with her beloved children Annalise, Lynsey, and Michael by

her side. She was 82. Born in Leicester, Wendy was the 1st daughter of Jack and Elsie Evans, joining three older brothers, Derek, Brian and Grahame, and later a younger sister, Diane. Her

childhood was rich with imagination, animals, laughter, and the kind of freedom that inspired a lifelong love of learning and storytelling. Following her schooling at Wyggeston Girls

Grammar, Wendy attended Leicester College of Art before completing her teacher training. She went on to dedicate her career to early years education, shaping young lives across generations

with warmth, originality, and unwavering care. Wendy's teaching journey spanned Cobden Primary School, Loughborough, King Richard III Infant School, Leicester, and later, Harrow

International School, Bangkok, among others. In every classroom, she brought her brilliance and a touch of magic. Her colleagues, students, and often their parents, remember her not just as

a teacher, but as a guiding light. In 1970, Wendy moved to the village of Quorn with her husband, Terry Cowlishaw. There, she poured her heart into raising her three children with the same

love, curiosity and creativity that defined her teaching. Wendy kept the joy of youth alive throughout her life. Her empathy and imagination didn't just define her profession - they

defined her person. She was a brilliant woman in every sense: intelligent, compassionate, funny, and deeply kind. Her legacy is profound, not only in the children she taught but in the

family she nurtured and the countless lives she touched. In honour of Wendy's thoughtful heart, her family kindly asks for donations in her memory to support VALE at Leicester Royal

Infirmary via the Anne Robson Trust, helping ensure no one is alone at the end of life. https://justgiving.com/page/wendycowlishaw Wendy's funeral will take place at 2.45 pm on

Wednesday, 4th June 2025 at Loughborough Crematorium. All who knew her are warmly welcome to attend and celebrate a life so beautifully lived. A brilliant life, and a brilliant woman. Wendy,
