A poll conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates for Newsweek found that 53% of Americans surveyed characterized news reporting as “often inaccurate,” while 46% said they could
“believe almost all or most” of what the media report. Also, 77% of the respondents said journalists are more likely to be influenced by pressure from their bosses for higher ratings and
profits than in the past, and 71% said journalists are more concerned with celebrity or personal fame than they once were. The poll also found CNN to be the most believable news
organization, followed by newspapers, then network TV news. The poll of 752 adults was conducted Thursday and Friday and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. MORE TO
