Liverpool mum finds 'pencil' in her fast food burger

A mum was stunned after she claimed she discovered a pencil in her BURGER. Leanne Daly, from Bootle, Liverpool, made the shocking teeth-jarring find in her Chicken Royale with bacon.

Mum-of-two Leanne had ordered a fast-food feast from popular eatery Burger King, on Stanley Road, in the Strand area of Liverpool. After choosing the big burger brand for a delivery Leanne

sat down with her family to tuck into the tasty takeaway on Monday, October 3. But as this picture shows she bit into more than she bargained when a small black wooden pencil rolled out from

the snack.  Leanne told the Liverpool Echo "My son passed me my burger, I had some and felt something weird. “So I opened it up and a pencil rolled out. I thought 'what the hell

is that' as it looked like an eyeliner. "So straight away I called them (Burger King) up and asked for an explanation and told them I had something in my burger. “I described what

it looked like and she told me 'not to worry' as it was only a grease pencil they used to mark the burger wrappers." Leanne said the employee told her to ‘rest assured’ that

it was not eyeliner as she was the ‘only woman on shift’. The employee then told Leanne to get a refund online before hanging up the phone. The 41-year-old said: "I thought what good is

that to me? It should not be in my food anyway and she was not apologetic at all. “My first thought was that someone has been doing their makeup while trying to make burgers at the same

instead got a refund. A spokesperson for Burger King said: "We apologise for the impact this incident has caused and have investigated the matter raised. "We want to re-iterate

that Burger King UK strives to deliver the best customer experience and the highest-quality meals possible at all times. “We will be working to ensure all necessary measures and staff
