The Queen “privately owned” a photograph of Rangers at Buckingham Palace, a news report has stated. According to the report, the surprising find came about during a grilling of the Keeper of

the Privy Purse 20 years ago. At the time, it was reported that MPs had expressed dismay at the £32million backlog in palace finances.  But amid the usual left-wing moaning was the

surprising Rangers find. The Scottish Daily Express reported that the then Glasgow South West Labour MP Ian Davidson was questioning the Queen's treasurer Sir Allan Reid about an

inventory of the Queen's treasures, which she owned on behalf of the nation.  Mr Davidson had been given a tour of the Palace and said: “There was only one picture I recognised, and

that was a photo of Glasgow Rangers Football Club. “I was very surprised to find that on a wall in the palace but since that is my local team I can go home and tell my constituents that they

are not forgotten in the palace.” Sir Allan responded: “The one may not be in the inventory. It may be privately owned.” The Queen, of course, remained neutral on football matters, but it

is possible she secretly harboured a liking for the Light Blues. Each year at the first home game after New Year, Rangers directors take part in the Loving Cup ceremony. READ MORE: HARRY AND

MEGHAN'S RELATIONSHIP WITH PALACE STAFF FELL APART The report further stated that one of only 30 cast to commemorate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937,

Rangers' acquired theirs after taking part in a match with Stoke City to raise funds for the dependents of the miners who lost their lives in the Holditch Colliery Disaster in the Stoke

area. Each year, the directors, often accompanied by guests from the opposing club, meet in the Blue Room to toast the monarch of the day from the cup, which is on display in the Ibrox

trophy room. Rangers are well known for their respect for the monarchy.  From the traditional Loving Cup ceremony to the picture of Her Majesty on the dressing room wall, nods to the royals

are never far away at Ibrox. DON'T MISS: ZELENSKY'S ADVISOR WARNS OF PUTIN LAUNCHING AN ATTACK [REVEAL] STREETS OF GEORGIA SENDS OUT A CLEAR MESSAGE TO PUTIN [INSIGHT] PRINCE

Afterwards, all of the fans inside the stadium joined together in singing God Save the King to pay tribute to Her Majesty just days after her passing as well as her son and successor, King

Charles III.
