Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is now older than Princess Diana was when she died, meaning royal fans will start to see her “majestic elegance come into play”, according to royal
commentator Angela Mollard. Ms Mollard joined New Idea’s Zoe Burrell on the ROYALS podcast to discuss how the next generations of royal women are being prepared to take over after the Queen
dies. The royal expert praised Prince William’s wife for taking her new duties on with “good grace”. Ms Mollard told listeners: “The Duchess recently went solo at a NATO reception at
Buckingham Palace while William was in the Middle East. “She greeted world leaders, she represented the country alongside Her Majesty. “It’s one thing going in, making a nice garden and
going to a preschool. “It’s quite different when you’re actually dealing with world leaders and dignitaries and you have to have a level of knowledge around their country.” READ MORE: MEGHAN
AND HARRY’S ‘MOST IMPORTANT’ CHOICE THAT HAS ‘DELIGHTED’ CANADA She continued: “I mean, we saw at the BAFTA awards, the fact that William had to say he had to watch all the movies because
he was meeting all these actors and Kate said ‘well I don’t get time to watch them because I’m a mum of three, I can’t see these movies’. “The same way they have to know the actors they were
speaking to at the BAFTA awards, they have to also know, when they’re speaking to a world leader, how to pronounce their name, what country they came from, how long they’ve been in their
leadership role, what the divisions are in that country, if there are any political issues that they need to steer around. “There’s a lot learning involved, but she does it all with such
good grace. “I have to say, when women are really young, I’m not sure some of that very heavy jewellery suits them, but then they come into their own and that jewellery looks fantastic on
them.” Ms Mollard said: “We’re now going to see Kate grow in a world that we never saw Diana grow in, and we never saw her reach that maturity. “I think Kate is doing brilliantly, she’s got
three children, she never puts s foot wrong, she’s being imaginative with her dress. “But, more than anything, she looks like she really enjoys it. “Even when she’s at this event with the
dignitaries, she looked curious, interested and proud. “The Queen must sometimes tuck herself into bed at night and go ‘thank you for the Middleton girl’.”
