Supermarkets issue food recalls when a discovery is made or there are safety issues surrounding a product that might endanger the consumer. Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Boots all
have a number of food recalls in place including potatoes and baby food. If customers have any of the affected items, they should return the product immediately to the store it was purchased
from for a full refund. If customers have purchased the potato skins, Asda are asking them to bring the product back to their nearest supermarket where they will be given a full refund.
Customers do not need a receipt. TESCO, ASDA, SAINSBURY’S, WAITROSE AND BOOTS Supermarket giant Asda along with many other food stores are recalling Aptamil Multigrain Banana and Berry
Cereal 7+ months. The cereal may contain small pieces of blue plastic, making it unsafe to eat. A receipt is required for proof of purchase at that store, and a full refund will be issued.
A number of other food recalls have been made within the past week. The Food Standards Agency is issuing precautionary advice to all customers who have purchased specific batches of British
Lion eggs. This is because they may contain salmonella. People who have a salmonella infection may have a high fever and stomach cramps. The affected supermarkets include Aldi, Asda and
Sainsbury’s. These eggs are not being recalled but the Food Standards Agency advises customers to always follow good hygiene and egg handling practises when using eggs including, cooking
them properly, storing them in the fridge, using them by the best before date and washing hands before and after handling eggs.
