Maharashtra drought: 12-year-old dies of heat stroke while fetching water for family

place when the class 5 student, Yogita Ashok Desai had gone to fill water from the nearest hand pump, which was 500 metres away from her house. The girl was a resident of Sablkhed village

and was also suffering from dysentery for a few days. According to _NDTV, _the girl was dehydrated after she made four trips to fill water. However, she collapsed on her fifth trip to the

water pump. The doctor who attended to her said that she died of a heart attack and dehydration. The government has said that 33 crore people in 2.5 lakh villages in the country are facing
