‘atmospheric n.1’ by carnovsky within the colonnaded courtyard of fondazione adolfo piniall photos by alvise vivenza the RGB experiment continues…this time using new materials and


technologies, in which carnovsky (francesco rugi and silvia quintanilla)expands on their project which began back in 2010 (see designboom’s coverage of their first RGB exhibition here).


during milan design week 2013, within the fondazione adolofo pini, the duo presented their ‘RGB fabulous landscapes’ in an exhibition focused on the interpretation of the landscape and


meteorological phenomena: atmosphere landscapes, architectonic and perspective landscapes, emotional landscapes, ephemeral landscapes, all in continuous movement. up close look at the


digital fresco technique used to create the gigantic graphic of a sky in the courtyard of the historic building, one was welcomed by the ‘atmospherics’ series, a set of panoramic sky scenes.


the major work of them all being ‘atmospheric n. 1’–a depiction of a giant sky which has been printed using the innovative technique of digital fresco executed by the italian company


graphicreport, illuminated by RGB LED lights which offered a visual display of ever changing sunrises, sunsets and storms. resulting effects and depiction of the panoramic sky graphic under


the changing RGB LED light the altered light results in intense sunrises… as well as sunsets. ‘landscape n.1’ on the ground floor, an enveloping installation of an enchanted forest immersed


visitors in an atmosphere which gradually took them from lush green surroundings, into an architectural, built space–the exterior reversing into the interior, the vanishing point of the


columns and perspective planes multiplying the room into infinity. ‘landscape n.1’ under the changing RGB LED light ‘landscape n.1’ takes viewers from lush forest green to am architectural
