ROSS MONAGHAN, 43, AND EDDIE LYONS JNR, 46, WERE BOTH EXECUTED IN COLD BLOOD BY A HITMAN IN FRONT ON TERRIFIED HOLIDAYMAKERS IN A BAR ON SATURDAY NIGHT IN THE COSTA DEL SOL 23:00, 02 Jun
2025 A British nurse recalled the harrowing moment she comforted a Scottish gangster as he lay dying following double shooting in Spain. The healthcare professional in her 50s was enjoying a
drink with her other half at a bar in the Costa del Sol when a balaclava-clad hitman killed Ross Monaghan, 43, and Eddie Lyons Jnr, 46, in front of distraught holidaymakers. The tragedy
happened at Monaghans bar in Fuengirola around 11.30pm on Saturday (May 31) after the Champions League final. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, described running to help once she
heard the gun. She said: "I was sitting with my partner in a pub when we heard one shot followed by a gap and then four more shots. We all ran into the bar and I was shouting 'get
inside'. "At the time they were celebrating the football because the game had just ended. Someone said a person had been shot and because I'm a nurse I ran to Monaghans bar to
see if I could help." Chilling footage, shown on Spanish national TV, caught Monaghan's desperate attempt to escape the shooter. Seconds before, Lyons Jnr had been killed just
outside the venue, reports the Mirror. Article continues below Monaghan could be seen blood gushing through his white t-shirt from a torso wound, trying to steady himself against a table
before collapsing. Surveillance photos from the bar also showed the killer, clad in all-black, chasing Monaghan. A couple of onlookers, thought to be a waitress and another man dressed in
black, are seen running away from the suspect. The nurse went on: "I got to the first person who was lying on his back on the terrace who I later discovered was Eddie Lyons Jnr. He was
clearly dead and had what appeared to be a bullet wound in his chest and one in his abdomen. "A bar lady told me there was another one in the bar. The other man, Ross, had one shot in
his chest, just on the right side. "He was lying on the floor and was still alive but his breathing was laboured. He was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts and trainers and he looked
younger than 43. "There was blood everywhere, on the floor and around the service hatch to the kitchen. There was nothing I could do, he wasn't bleeding from his mouth so I just
held his hand, stroked his hair and waited for the emergency services." Monaghan, who was thought to have been the bar's owner, was previously implicated as a suspect in the 2010
slaying of Kevin "Gerbil" Carroll in Robroyston, Glasgow. The charges against him were eventually dropped. After surviving a shooting incident himself in 2017 whilst dropping off
his child at a school in Glasgow, Monaghan sought sanctuary in Spain. Police and paramedics were seen surrounding the body of one of the victims after he was covered under a blanket as
shocked locals and holidaymakers looked on. No arrests have been made at the time of writing. Spanish police said: "The investigation is continuing into the fatal shooting of two men at
a pub in Fuengirola, with nothing new at the moment." Article continues below The double murders of Monaghan and Lyons Jr – who were said to be two leading members of the Lyons gang -
was in fact 'plotted during a secret summit' in Scotland, reports EdinburghLive. The planning is said to have happened in Kirkintilloch, nine miles north-east of Glasgow.
Top-ranking members of the Daniel clan are said to have "gathered for a council of war" at a "secret location" in Kirkintilloch with high-ranking associates of jailed
Edinburgh drugs baron Mark Richardson. While in recent months, members of this east coast-west coast criminal alliance have suffered in the face of a relentless onslaught from their hated
rivals, the Lyons. FOR THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS AND STORIES FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE FROM THE DAILY STAR, SIGN UP FOR OUR NEWSLETTERS.
