whether they're eligible to line their pockets. Gas company Cadent revealed that its support groups are buzzing with punters scratching their heads over Universal Credit, Pension

Credit, and Attendance Allowance. It turns out hundreds of thousands are missing out on these financial perks – most likely due to not having any idea they can claim or wrongly thinking

they're not entitled to the dosh. The hidden treasure includes Universal Credit and Attendance Allowance stashing up to £400 a month each in your bank, and Pension Credit could see a

whopping £908 monthly landing, reports Birmingham Live. And there's good news on the horizon, with both Winter Fuel Payments and the Warm Home Discount Scheme being juiced up to help

more hard-up households. Financial gurus are urging pensioners fretting over their bank balances – and their nearest and dearest – to check if they can get other benefits. Article continues

below Cadent's Phil Burrows, head of customer vulnerability and social responsibility, said: "News this week of a reduction in the Energy Price Cap and the Government's desire

to make more pensioners eligible for Winter Fuel Payments, will be welcome for households across the UK. "But, as an industry, we cannot afford to become complacent." He painted a

picture of a steady stream of folk still flocking to Cadent's Centres for Warmth to find a haven and help, especially when bogged down in debt, even as the weather takes a turn for the

warmer. "We saw demand for financial support surge by 118% last winter, with over 20,000 individuals accessing these vital services through Cadent's national Centre for Warmth

programme," he said. "Almost three-quarters of centres offering financial support have seen an average increase of 225% in usage, compared to 2023. Article continues below

"The support most utilised at our centres includes guidance on accessing Attendance Allowance, Pension Credit, and Universal Credit, a clear sign that many are still unaware of the help

they could be receiving. "These findings highlight the growing financial pressure on vulnerable households, and while these measures are supportive, the scale of rising need remains

deeply concerning."
