Msp urging people to replace radio teleswitch service electricity meters

PLEA COMES AS NEW FIGURES HAVE REVEALED THAT 5100 RTS METERS ARE STILL IN OPERATION IN NORTH LANARKSHIRE. 11:50, 20 May 2025 Coatbridge & Chryston's MSP is urging people to replace

older electricity meters which use the Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) ahead of the national switch-off on June 30. Fulton MacGregor's plea comes as new figures have revealed that 5100

RTS meters are still in operation in North Lanarkshire. After the shut-off, these meters may experience issues with their electric heating and hot water - potentially leading to higher

suppliers are responsible for replacing RTS meters with smart meters at no additional cost. Anyone who thinks they may have an RTS meter should contact their supplier now to book an upgrade.
