MEGHAN WAS REPORTEDLY "DEVASTATED" BY RUMOURS THAT HER TEAM FLOATED THE IDEA OF A POST-PRINCE HARRY DIVORCE BOOK TO A PUBLISHER, A SOURCE HAS CLAIMED 17:48, 27 Jan 2025Updated
17:48, 27 Jan 2025 Meghan Markle has reportedly been left "devastated" by rumours suggesting her team had floated the idea of a post-Prince Harry divorce book to publishers, an
insider has claimed. According to a bombshell Vanity Fair cover story, it's alleged that the Duchess of Sussex's representatives had discussions with a publishing house to
"gauge interest" in a potential tell-all book about her life should she and Prince Harry ever part ways, as reported by OK! The article shockingly suggests that these talks took
place shortly after the couple stepped back from their duties as working royals. However, the piece also clarifies that no offer was made by the publisher and no manuscript exists. In fact,
the article emphasises that Harry and Meghan remain very much in love and are not on the path to divorce. This report sparked concern among fans over the stability of the Royal couple's
marriage. "Meghan knows that the rumours always make their fans worry about a split, and she doesn't like that sort of negativity being spread," the source disclosed to OK!
The insider added that despite the book rumours being unfounded, Meghan, aged 43, is growing increasingly exasperated with the relentless speculation surrounding the state of her marriage.
"Meghan was devastated when she saw all of these reports about a 'post-divorce' book coming out," an insider revealed. "She knows there's no truth to them and
it's just upsetting for her to constantly have this negativity around them. "She's getting really sick and tired of all the split rumours. Everywhere she looks and reads there
is something about her and Harry breaking up." A recent cover story in Vanity Fair suggested that the supposed book would not be a general account of life after divorce, but might
focus on a post-Harry divorce scenario. This isn't the first time the couple have been subjected to split rumours, with Harry himself recently addressing the speculation at a major book
event in New York. When asked about the constant rumours at The New York Times' 2024 DealBook Summit, Harry, 40, joked, "Apparently we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times.
We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, 'What? ' It's hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it."
However, given Harry's history of publishing best-selling bombshell books, the couple should perhaps not be surprised by claims that if a divorce were ever to occur, one of them might
pen a book about it. The autobiography 'Spare' by Prince Harry, released in January 2023, is widely seen as a damaging blow to his relationship with Prince William. Spanning 416
pages, it reveals intense conversations and unflattering comments about Camilla, as well as describing disputes between Meghan and Kate. Harry's earnings from the memoir are estimated
at around $27m (£21.8m), comprising his advance plus sales of hardbacks and paperbacks. Before their Royal exit in 2020, the Sussexes' income was predominantly supplied by King Charles,
complemented by the Sovereign Grant. Despite the financial allure of such disclosures, an insider has stated that Meghan would never consider a 'Spare'-like expose of her
marriage. "In reality, they're really happy and strong, so it's frustrating to constantly have people saying they're on the edge of a split," the source expressed.
It comes as the world is eagerly awaiting a peek into the lives of Meghan and Harry in Netflix's high-budget series, With Love, Meghan. The eight-part series was initially set to
premiere earlier this month but has been delayed due to the catastrophic wildfires ravaging California. On January 15, the day before the show was scheduled to air, Netflix announced that
the postponement came "at the request of Meghan". The streaming giant added that the "heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California" would now be released on
March 4. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, parents to Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, reportedly opened their Montecito mansion to friends who needed to evacuate. They also shared a list of
resources and charity links on their official website, urging others to do the same. "If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your
home, please do," the post read. It also encouraged people to check on disabled or elderly neighbours who might need help evacuating, adding: "Some families and people have been
left with nothing. Please consider donating clothing, children's toys and clothing, and other essentials." Article continues below JOIN THE DAILY RECORD WHATSAPP COMMUNITY! Get the
