LORRAINE KELLY HAS BEEN LEFT 'DEVASTATED' AS HER POPULAR ITV SHOW IS SET TO BE SLASHED FROM AN HOUR TO 30 MINUTES 22:35, 20 May 2025 Workers on Lorraine are reportedly concerned

their popular host might depart following substantial ITV budget cuts. The TV star is reportedly shattered by the extent of imminent redundancies forecasted for her show. The changes will

reduce the show to half its current duration and it will broadcast for 30 weeks annually. ITV's chief Kevin Lygo has declared that the hosts will not change for any programmes hit by

these changes. However, an insider remarked: "There are genuine fears among staff that Lorraine may decide to walk if the quality of the show they are putting out declines. It's

hard to see how standards won't fall... "And there are questions over whether Lorraine will want to be associated with that. Lorraine and her team are perfectionists - it's

why the show is loved by so many." They continued to express displeasure, especially considering ITV’s recent boasting about the show attracting its best viewer numbers in four years,

reports the Mirror. A second source said: "This is a presenter who has just come back from having an operation, has won a BAFTA, is enjoying record ratings... and then ITV show their

appreciation by yanking her off air half the year. Staff are beside themselves, and have been in tears constantly. It doesn't make any sense given the trajectory the show is on."

Overall, ITV plans to cut around 220 positions in its pursuit of saving up to £50million. Insiders have described feeling "collective devastation" after being summoned to a company

meeting where daytime staff were informed that nearly half of the 450 jobs at ITV Daytime face the axe. The restructuring is set to result in cost savings which will be

"reinvested" into alternative programming, emphasising drama, sport, and both reality and entertainment shows. As of January 2026, Loose Women is scheduled to switch to a

"seasonal" format, broadcasting for 30 weeks per year, marking a cut from the present schedule yet restoring its former broadcast pattern pre-2016. In a significant shift for ITV,

their news provider ITN will assume control of Good Morning Britain production starting next year. The revamp will see GMB relocated to ITN's Gray's Inn Road premises and extend

its airtime by 30 minutes for part of the year (from 6am to 9:30am for 30 weeks) and by a full hour when Lorraine is not on (from 6am to 10am for 22 weeks). The news of widespread job cuts

has been met with considerable grief among the employees. The team behind the currently popular Good Morning Britain show, led by presenters Susanna Reid, Richard Madeley, and Ed Balls, has

been largely affected; out of 133 staff members, only 38 will be transferred over to ITN. An inside source revealed: "The devastation among the staff is palpable after the announcement.

To say it blindsided them would be an understatement. "There had been whispers going round for some time over a merger between ITV News and Good Morning Britain, but no indication that

the Daytime shows would be affected. "We still don't know how many people are going to lose their jobs, but rumours around 50 per cent of the entire staff from GMB, Lorraine and

This Morning will be affected which is staggering. "All of the shows are produced by teams of super dedicated professionals, everyone is completely devastated."". JOIN THE

relief presenters, Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh, will still offer holiday cover and "remain as part of the ITV Daytime family".
