Rain returns, temperatures to drop: french weekend weather outlook november 9 - 10

THE SOUTH-WEST WILL SEE THE BRUNT OF THE RAINFALL France’s extended period of dry weather is coming to an end, with Atlantic rains set to arrive on Saturday.  Despite this – and a slight

temperature drop – conditions should still be mostly mild, calmer and warmer than usual for the season.  FRIDAY NOVEMBER 8  The morning will begin cloudy for most, with fog in the north and

particularly in the north. Storms are forecast in the western Mediterranean, particularly from 18:00 onwards.  Tier-three orange warnings for heavy rain and storms are in place in the Aude

(@VigiMeteoFrance) November 8, 2024 However, the south should still see highs of 20C, despite cloudy skies persisting.  SATURDAY NOVEMBER 9  An Atlantic disturbance will bring rain to the

west coast on Saturday, hitting Brittany and the south-west before moving into the Pyrénées and Massif Central mountain ranges. Rain will be strong early in the morning in the Pays-Basque,

but otherwise mostly fall as a sustained drizzle in these areas.  The Mediterranean storms will continue along the southern coast, but it is not set to be as violent as the weather patterns

overcast day, with temperatures dropping by 2C overall, with large variations between late morning and afternoon.  No area is expected to see a high of over 20C, including in the south. 

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 10  Sunday will be calmer, but the grey and overcast weather will continue, particularly in the north.  Light showers will continue to hit the Pyrénées, and potentially the

rest of the south-west, but elsewhere rain is unlikely.  The south-east will see a return to sunshine (with clouds pushed away by the Mistral and Tramontane winds) and warm weather, reaching

up to 21C in Nice and the surrounding area.  However, in the east near the German border, temperatures will not reach above 10C throughout the day.  Early forecasts for next week see

similar conditions, although Monday (November 11) is likely to see rain in the north, and a chilly breeze throughout the day.
