WOMAN SAYS SHE DID NOT REALISE HER ‘GRAVE' ERROR, AS SHE DROVE DOWN A PATH BETWEEN THE TOMBS LATE AT NIGHT THAT BECAME MORE AND MORE NARROW  A driver whose car ended up wedged between

tombs in a French cemetery told police she was just following instructions from her GPS. Authorities in Bouches-du-Rhône (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) said that a black Citroën car was

found abandoned, stuck between two tombs in the Gréasque village cemetery, in the early hours of July 4. “Local workers found it very difficult to free the car,” said mayor Michel Ruiz to

local newspaper La Provence. > Prémonitoire? Mercredi 3 juillet au matin, un véhicule a été > retrouvé coincé entre deux caveaux du cimetière de Gréasque. La > conductrice de la

Marseille (which is around 35 minutes’ drive away), she said she had been driving to see a friend in the village when - around 03:00 - she followed her GPS for around 25 metres, down a

‘path’ that was becoming more and more narrow.  Apparently not realising what was happening, she then became stuck between two large tombs, and wedged the car to such an extent that she

could not get free. She abandoned the vehicle having damaged around a dozen tombs and plots before becoming stuck. Read also: Why GPS apps will not always suggest the fastest route in France
