by staying in the chalet at the heart of French drama Anatomy of a Fall, which is available to rent on AIRBNB. Anatomy of a Fall (Anatomie d’une chute in French), directed by French

filmmaker Justine Triet, won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and took home six César awards, the French equivalent of the Oscars. This Sunday, March 10, the film will compete in

five Oscar categories including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actress for its German star, Sandra Hüller. The chalet is part of a converted farm in the village of Villarembert, at 1,400m

above sea level, in the Savoie, close to the Le Corbier ski resort. A duplex apartment on the ground floor, complete with private terrace, is available to rent from €90 a night. It can host

four people. The Airbnb advert touts the chalet’s “authentic charm” and “cosy” atmosphere. Anatomy of a Fall revolves around whether a Frenchman, played by Samuel Theis, fell from an

upstairs window in the chalet, or was pushed by his wife, played by Hüller. It charts her journey through the police investigation up to the court case, where she must plead her innocence.

she did not mention the shooting in the rental advert. “It is the chalet’s proximity to nature and the ski resorts which are selling points for holidaymakers more than the location of a
