THE GERMAN SHEPHERD DOGS ESCAPED FROM A PROPERTY IN HARTLEPOOL AND LAUNCHED ATTACKS, SPARKING A HUGE POLICE RESPONSE 16:16, 01 Jun 2025 Armed police have been called to a North East street
after several people were attacked by escaped dogs. Officers have swarmed Sheriff Street and Tankerville Street in Hartlepool. At least five police cars can be seen blocking the road, where
around six officers are armed with guns and some are carrying shields, TeessideLive reports. Cleveland Police has confirmed that three German Shepherd dogs escaped from a property on Sheriff
Street. A cordon is in place on Tankerville Street while emergency services deal with the incident. The North East Ambulance Service dispatched three ambulance crews, a specialist
paramedic, and a clinical team leader to the scene. Paramedics treated four people at the scene with one person transported to hospital by ambulance. The other three injured people were able
to make their own way to hospital. The dogs have now been captured, but the force encouraged people to stay away from the area, and remain indoors with their doors closed while the incident
is ongoing. Article continues below A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Officers are currently dealing with an incident where three German Shepherd dogs have escaped from a
property in Sheriff Street, Hartlepool, and attacked several people." "The dogs have now been captured and secured by officers at the scene, and whilst any immediate threat to the
public has now been eliminated, we would still ask people to stay away from the area and remain indoors with their doors closed, whilst officers deal with the incident." Article
