Jones a chance to show what he can do and never had the intention of selling him. The report says Jones was put in an ‘exclusive’ group of players along with David de Gea and Marcus Rashford

and deemed them ‘untransferable’. Mourinho is said to believe Jones has the ability to be as influential as John Terry was for Chelsea. Earlier this week, Jones said his improvement this

season was due to training with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba. He said: “As a defender, you want to play against the best strikers in the world.  “You want to test yourself and

prove to people that you’re good enough to do that. “Playing against these players in training every day makes me a better player.  “It gives me a better understanding of how to deal with

these types of players when they’re on the opposing team.
