THE LATEST BLUEBIRDS NEWS FROM CARDIFF CITY STADIUM 16:00, 20 May 2025 Here are your Cardiff City headlines for Tuesday, May 20. JONES: I'D LOVE TO BE INVOLVED Former Bluebirds manager

Dave Jones has called for change at Cardiff City and has once again offered his services to help the club out in some capacity. Jones enjoyed a fruitful and lengthy spell as manager of the

Bluebirds between 2005 and 2011, narrowly missing out on Premier League promotion on more than one occasion. The Liverpudlian has been out of work in a managerial capacity since he managed

Hartlepool in 2017, however went on to work as a consultant at Bury. _Join the Cardiff City breaking news and top stories WhatsApp community_ In an interview with WalesOnline, Jones put his

name forward to fill the role of a sporting director within the club, however Vincent Tan has been averse to the idea since he was burned by Iain Moody more than a decade ago. However,

speaking to The World Class Stamp podcast, Jones recalled a game he went to watch this season — a 1-1 draw with Coventry City on New Year's Day — and said what he saw led him to believe

the club needs more football IQ at board level. Article continues below "I would go back in a heartbeat," Jones said of Cardiff. "What you can't do is what you've

done the last two or three years and make the same mistakes next year. "I do think they need someone with football experience in the club. I'm not talking about picking the team,

I'm talking about running the club. "When I was there at Christmas time, I didn't see a great deal of knowledge around. "It was hard to go back and watch a club

you've been manager at struggling, I didn't feel comfortable, if I'm being honest. I was welcomed back, so I don't mean it in that way, but I sat with [Omer Riza's]

wife in the lounge and you could just see the fear, because it wasn't going well, and that was horrible. "I said to my wife, 'You're like that sometimes' and she

said, 'Yeah, it's not a nice feeling to have when people are having a go at you.' "Would I go back? Of course I would. I'd love to go back. In any capacity, really,

because I do have over a thousand games as a manager. I've got a lot of knowledge and I want to give it back. "I've got minimum 10 years left in me. I still have the same

enthusiasm in me. I think my record speaks for itself, wherever I've been I've done all right. "I was a long time at Cardiff. I have a lot of respect for the people there. But

I do think they have got to change." NYAKUHWA CALLED UP BY BELLAMY Wales head coach Craig Bellamy has called up Cardiff academy talent Tanatswa Nyakuhwa to the warm-weather training

camp in Spain. Bellamy last week named a 29-man senior squad as preparations ramp up for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Belgium in June, with four uncapped

Bluebirds selected for the trip – Dylan Lawlor, Ronan Kpakio, Cian Ashford and Luey Giles. However, late changes to the squad have seen Wales youth international winger Nyakuhwa jet out to

meet up with the rest of the squad. Nyakuhwa is joined by TNS goalkeeper Connor Roberts, while David Harrington, Elliot Myles and Joel Cotterill, who were all named in the initial squad,

have not travelled. The 19-year-old winger was a target for Anderlecht in the January window, having been a standout for the under-21s this season, while Newport County also showed an

interest. Nyakuhwa came on for his first-team debut on the last day of the season, getting a 20-minute runout at Carrow Road in the 4-2 defeat by Norwich City. _Sign up to our daily Cardiff

the vacant Kocaelispor managerial position. According to Turkish outlet Çağdaş Kocaeli, via Sport Witness, Bulut has held talks with the club following the recent departure of İsmet

Taşdemir, who led Kocaelispor to the TFF 1. Lig title and promotion to the Süper Lig before parting ways with the club. Bulut, 50, has been out of work since September after a disastrous

start to the season with Cardiff, where he collected just one point from the opening six Championship matches. That slow start came after a solid first campaign in 2023/24, in which he led

the Bluebirds side to a mid-table finish before signing a two-year extension over the summer. However, he lasted until just September. Article continues below If appointed, Bulut could come

up against another former Cardiff manager next season, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, who is currently impressing in charge of Beşiktaş.
