IT WILL BE THE SECOND TIME WORKS HAVE TAKEN PLACE ON THE BUSY ROAD THIS YEAR 11:47, 30 May 2025 Roadworks are to take place on a key gateway in and out of Swansea for 23 weeks, it has been

announced. Neath Port Talbot Council says that starting from Monday, June 30, essential drainage improvement works will begin on Fabian Way between the Jersey Marine Junction (Amazon

Roundabout) and the M4 slip road. The work is being carried out to address persistent flooding issues that regularly affect the eastbound carriageway, cycle path and lay-bys during periods

of heavy rainfall. The council says the flooding "poses a significant safety risk to road users".__ It adds that the improvements will reduce the risk of surface water flooding,

enhance road safety and reduce long-term disruption. The work is expected to last 23 weeks. Lane closures will be in place, but "every effort will be made to minimise disruption and

maintain traffic flow where possible", the council says. _Stay info__rmed on everything Neath Port Talbot by signing up to __our newsletter here_. It adds that, to ensure safety for

both the workforce and the general public, traffic management will need to remain in place 24/7 throughout the Fabian Way scheme. The scheme is being delivered with support from The Welsh

Government's Resilient Road Fund (RRF). A council spokesperson said: “Thank you for your patience while we carry out these critical drainage improvements. Once a contractor has been

appointed further details will be released and updates will be provided as works are progressing.” Article continues below It will be the second time works have taken place on the busy road
