customers a free gift worth £20 after a major TV outage caused widespread disruption. On Thursday evening (May 15) Sky customers reported losing access to their Sky Q services, with the

boxes cutting out. The disruption lasted for several hours, and some customers continued having problems even after restarting their boxes. Sky have apologised to customers for the issue and

have offered customers a free movie on them. The company confirmed that it was a "technical issue" which caused some Sky Q boxes to enter standby mode. Sky added that their teams

worked quickly to restore services. They said: "We understand how frustrating it can be to lose access to your favourite shows and channels, and we apologise for any inconvenience this

caused. We’re taking every step to make sure it doesn’t happen again." Sky has sent out emails to customers offering them a free Sky Store Buy & Keep Movie to say "thank you
