Tomah , WI — Veterans and the community are encouraged to join the Tomah VA Medical Center and the Wood County Veteran Service office. TOMAH, WI - The Tomah VA Medical Center in partnership
with the Wood County Veterans Service Office will host a Veterans EXPO and PACT Act Event along with a Veterans Town Hall on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event
will be held at Crossview Church, 1000 E. Riverview Expressway, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, with the Veterans Town Hall starting at 11:00 a.m. until noon. The event is open to all Veterans,
caregivers, and family members. No registration is needed. All Veterans, whether enrolled in VA health care or not, are encouraged to attend to learn about the benefits available to them.
Veterans will be encouraged to ask questions on any topic they are concerned about during the open question-and-answer session of the town hall. Tomah VA Director, Karen Long, expressed that
the town halls are critical for Veteran feedback. “Our in-person Veteran town halls give us a larger opportunity to have access to our Veterans,” Long said. “We can personally engage with
Veterans and answer questions that are important to them.” Long said the town halls also serve to distribute VA benefits information that Veterans may otherwise not know about, such as the
recently expanded PACT Act. “We have a responsibility to share the most up-to- date information with our Veterans,” Long exclaimed. The Veterans Expo will include Veterans Benefits
Administration representatives for VA disability claims, County Veteran Service Officers for benefits assistance, and on-site resources such as Tomah VA Mental Health, Women’s Health, Whole
Health, and Vet Center representatives. Veterans can sign up for VA care and VA representatives will be providing Veterans with information and resources about toxic exposure. Additionally,
county and state resources will also be available. For more information about the PACT Act go to: https://www.va.gov/resources/the- pact-act-and-your-va-benefits/ For up-to-date
