Dr. Rolando Ramos is Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services-Nurse Executive (DADPCS/NE) at Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VATVCBHCS). Dr. Ramos, is responsible for the

oversight of Nursing Services provided  throughout the VATVCBCBHCS. He began his VA career in 2011 as the  Nurse Manger for Specialty Clinics at the Health Care Center (HCC) in  Harlingen.

In 2016, he was promoted to the Associate Chief of Nursing for Surgery and Specialty Clinics in Harlingen and Corpus Christi Texas.  Dr. Ramos has 26 years of Registered Nurse experience

throughout different healthcare settings including inpatient, intensive care unit, home health, ambulatory surgery, specialty clinics, and primary care. His professional career includes 15

years of nursing leadership experience. He began his nursing career in 1997 as a Registered Nurse and in 2008, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 2011, he graduated with his 

Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Leadership from the  University of Texas in Brownsville. Dr. Ramos continued his education to earn his Doctor of Nursing Practice  with a

focus on Executive Nurse Leadership from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in December 2021. He is committed to serving our Veterans by implementing sustainable evidence

based practices and utilizing continuous quality improvement to improve current practices. He uses a Servant Leadership Style and adheres to Values and Principles of a High Reliability

Organization.
