At the age of 72, Michael Miller continues to climb roofs, crawl under houses, and inspect dozens of homes. He said the trick to feeling so young may have something to do with his nine

grandchildren, but it’s mostly because of the health care he gets from VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. “I’ve been a patient at the Nashville VA campus for 20 or 22 years now,” the Air

Force Veteran said. “The doctors and nurses I’ve encountered are just great and they really care about me. Every time I go it’s very friendly and open.” Not too long ago, Miller needed a

routine colonoscopy. He explained he had a few colonoscopies done by other hospitals but felt VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System was the best choice. “I’ve had dozens of these procedures,

but VA was the most professional and accommodating,” Miller said. “My experience was very smooth, and the doctors did an excellent job. Compared to other places I’ve been, the Nashville VA

is much better. They’re more caring, more prepared, and it has a more professional atmosphere.” Miller described why he trusts VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System and why Veterans should

consider VA health care. “I’ve heard stories about other VA hospitals and concerns about trying to get into the hospitals for appointments, but I’ve never encountered that here [at VA

Tennessee Valley Healthcare System],” the White House, Tennessee native said. “My primary care provider Dr. Salloum and her team are really great and take good care of me. I mean, the entire

team and all the doctors and nurses are truly interested in my health. I always tell everyone how great the VA is and that they should get involved.” When he’s not working, Miller enjoys

spending time with his wife, four children, and nine grandchildren, and he plays guitar in his spare time. Prior to becoming a house inspector, Miller worked as a general contractor, realtor

and was a firefighter for 14 years in Franklin, Tennessee.  He served in the Air Force from 1968 – 1972 and helped supply more than a dozen missile sites throughout the nation.
