In the anticipation of low temperatures, here is information on cold weather shelters in Nashville, Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, Clarksville, Cookeville, Crossville, Kentucky area, and more,


for Veterans experiencing homelessness. These shelters are available in an effort to reduce cold weather exposure which can result in hypothermia, frostbite, and even death from exposure. It


is dangerous for individuals to stay outside or in places not meant for human habitation. ------------------------- NASHVILLE RESPONSE: Office of Homeless Services (OHS) along with other


Metro Departments are preparing for a weekend of low temperatures. We are closely monitoring the weather and final decisions are made by noon the prior day. TO FIND OUT IF THE OVERFLOW

MEDIA PLATFORMS: * WEGO CENTRAL: PLEASE ARRIVE AT WEGO AT 6:30 P.M. Folks downtown can catch the #23B bus to the shelter from WeGo Central at 400 Charlotte Ave. People should go downstairs


to the lower level at WeGo Central and wait at Bay 24 for the #23B bus. Both the number and letter are important: 2-3-B. WE WILL PARTNER WITH AGENCIES TO SECURE CRATES FOR ANIMALS, AS ALL


ANIMALS WILL NEED TO BE IN A CRATE THIS YEAR. Bus passes given out in the morning is good for All Day Rides.  * FREE SHUTTLE: The free shuttle will pick up at the following stops: *


BROOKMEADE PICKUPS:  This will be a “Will Call” option for folks in the surrounding area. Drivers will wear orange vests, orange hats, and have orange cone flashlights – and they will put


their hazard flashers on when they stop. * WALMART PICKUPS: Folks who need a pickup at the Nolensville Pike Walmart should look for the mobility solutions shuttle near the well-lit main

RITI Day Services. Staff will be available on Drexel Street Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. and starting Nov. 1 to March 31, Saturdays and Sundays from 6 a.m. - 12 p.m. * Due to


the pandemic and limited capacity, we are unable to offer shelter for ladies during the 2024-2025 winter season. The best option would be the Nashville Rescue Mission located at 639

winter.  In Cold Weather emergencies, youth 18-24 without a room should go to the mission or the Metro Overflow Shelter, who will contact Launch Pad to see if there is availability: WHEN:


Nov. 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Young adults who are 18 to 24 years old, who are experiencing homelessness and do not have a safe place to stay. Must be LGBTQ+ or an ally HOW

hours. Metro Emergency Shelter operates as the overflow shelter; please continue to use the regular Emergency Shelter options at Room In the Inn and Nashville Rescue Mission. FAMILIES WITH


CHILDREN CANNOT ACCESS THE METRO COLD WEATHER OVERFLOW SHELTER. Families with children should call the community’s Coordinated Entry Family Line at 615-862-6444, which is staffed Monday


through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Families with children who show up after hours and who cannot go to NRM will be accommodated on a case-by-case basis. Metro is partnering with The Salvation


Army to provide immediate access to emergency shelter to ensure no child is left outdoors.  This approach is ONLY accessible in special after-hour-situations due to extremely limited

at Manna Village will be open when the temperature drops below 32 degrees for three consecutive days. Guests can check in beginning at 4 p.m. each evening and will check out each day by 10


a.m. The guests can remain in the shelter during the day if the temperature is below 32. The  shelter remains available until the weather goes back up beyond 32 degrees.
