CLARKSVILLE , TN — The public is invited to attend a ceremony dedicating the new Clarksville Vet Center, Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. CT at 141 Chesapeake Lane, Clarksville, Tenn., 37043. The

Clarksville Vet Center offers confidential counseling, community engagement, and referral services for eligible Veterans, service members, including members of the National Guard and reserve

components, and their families at no cost in a non-medical setting. Services include individual, group, couples, and family counseling for needs such as depression, posttraumatic stress

disorder, and the psychological effects of military service-related trauma, including sexual trauma endured while in the military. Individuals do not need to be enrolled in VA healthcare, be

service connected, or out of the military to receive Vet Center services. Dedicated team members are available to support the individual goals of those still in the military, those

transitioning out, and after service.  “We are eager to officially commemorate this new Vet Center and invite Veterans, service members, and their families to find safety, comfort, and

healing here. We commit to providing the same high level of care and services at this location as others across the country, earning Vet Centers a national VA trust score of 94 percent,”

said Clarksville Vet Center Director Laura Felten. This location provides 3,780 sq. ft. of space, and includes individual counseling rooms, group rooms, family counseling space, and

available office space for community partners to operate from. The leased space was awarded in 2019 as a Vet Center Outstation, a satellite location to the Nashville Vet Center, where at

least one full time counselor worked. The Clarksville Vet Center, now full-scale, includes one Vet Center Director, two counselors, a program support assistant, and an open position to hire

an additional counselor. The dedication ceremony will include remarks from VA Chief Readjustment Counseling Officer Michael Fisher, and Blanchfield Army Community Hospital Commander, COL

Samuel L. Preston. An open house will follow the formal dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting and allow the public to tour the new space and meet with other community partners to learn

about available benefits and services.  ABOUT VET CENTERS: Today, there are more than 300 Vet Centers, 80 Mobile Vet Centers, and numerous satellite locations offering services in all 50

states and U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. In December 2023, the VA announced the expansion of three new Vet Centers and multiple Vet Center outstations, increasing access

and reducing barriers to necessary counseling and referral services. View the new locations coming soon. ###
