The “Give Happy” barometer is here, but have you ever asked yourself why? The Combined Federal Campaign is one of the largest and most successful workplace giving programs in the world! The
CFC allows federal employees and retirees to support eligible nonprofit organizations annually. Since its inception in 1961, the fund has raised nearly $8.7 billion for charities and people
in need. From September through January, federal employees and retirees can pledge monetary donations or volunteer hours to a variety of pre-screened charities. The beauty of the fund is
access to and information about thousands of nonprofit participants and the flexibility of supporting multiple charities at one time. “Through the Combined Federal Campaign, we unite our
efforts to give happiness, transforming our contributions into lasting change for those in need,” said Kayla Brown-Gregory, 2024 Campaign Co-Chair. “Last year, we proudly raised a total of
$49,587.” Contributions can be made four easy ways: the online giving system, paper pledge form, text-to-donate and the CFC giving app. The CFC website also has a virtual charity fair to
read stories and watch videos from charities working in charitable cause areas. Why participate? Not only do studies show that giving makes people happy, the CFC allows federal employees to
make an even bigger difference in the world. No matter the size, your donation, combined with all others makes a lasting and positive impact on communities and causes locally and worldwide.
The fund also encourages camaraderie because employees come together to support the values of being public servants, such as compassion and generosity. An added aspect of “doing our part” to
help with an assortment of Cause Areas like disaster relief, education, medical research and environmental protectional drives many donations. Each week a Cause Area is highlighted to
create awareness and boost donations. The full list of Cause Areas includes: * Animal Welfare * Arts and Humanities * Children and Family Support * Community Improvement * Disaster and
Crisis Response * Education * End Poverty * Environmental Protection * Global Health * Housing and Shelter * Human Rights * Mental Wellness * Military and Veterans Services You can “Give
Happy” to more than 4,000 charities through January 15, 2025. The 2024 CFC goal for VISN 8 – Tampa, FL is $50,000 in donations of which TampaVA has raised $17,830. The overall VA goal is
$3,000,000. Last year more than $70,000,000 were raised by employees and retirees combined. “’Tis the season of giving and we truly appreciate your participation and thank you in advance
for helping James A. Haley reach our CFC goal,” Crystal Mickens-Houck, 2024 Campaign Co-Chair. “We couldn’t be successful without everyone who continues to make this a successful CFC
campaigning season.” For your donation to be added the TampaVA contribution, add the zip code ‘33612” and use code “W6P0T7”. For more information and to participate, visit the following
