Veteran Benefits Administration’s Reno Regional Office will host a PACT Act-focused town hall and resource fair in the auditorium of the North Las Vegas VA Medical Center from 10 a.m.-2
p.m., Saturday, March 23. At the event, VA staff will be ready to help PACT Act-eligible Veterans and survivors apply for PACT Act-related benefits (or submit an intent to file), enroll in
VA health care, get screened for toxic exposures, and more. The resource fair will include a Veterans Benefits Administration Claims Clinic and Veterans Healthcare Administration
representatives from many entities including the Caregiver Support Program, Community Care, Enrollment & Eligibility, My HealtheVet, Military to VA Program, and more. The event comes
after VA announced that all Veterans who were exposed to toxins or other hazards while serving in the military – at home or abroad – became eligible to enroll directly in VA health care
beginning March 5. This means that all Veterans who served in the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Global War on Terror, or any other combat zone after 9/11 will be eligible
to enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits. Additionally, Veterans who never deployed but were exposed to toxins or hazards while training or on active duty
in the United States will also be eligible to enroll. VA encourages all eligible Veterans to visit VA.gov/PACT or call 1-800-MYVA411 to learn more and apply for VA health care today. Since
President Biden signed the PACT Act into law on August 10, 2022, more than 4,800 Nevada Veterans have enrolled in VA health care and nearly 20,000 have filed a PACT Act-related claim. WHAT:
