Dr. Maisha Moore assumed the role of Interim Medical Center Director (IMCD) for the VA Central California Health Care System on May 14, 2024. Previously, Dr. Moore served as the VISN 21

Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Before joining VISN 21, she was the Chief of Quality, Safety, and Value (QSV) at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. From November 2016 to April 2021, she held

the positions of Associate Director of Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive and Deputy Associate Director of Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive at VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System.

Dr. Moore began her VA career in 2004 at Birmingham VA Medical Center in Alabama and has since undertaken various leadership roles within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). She holds

a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (2004), a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama (2012), and a Doctor of Nursing Practice

with a focus in Healthcare Systems Leadership from Chamberlain University (2020).  Dr. Moore has participated in the Senior Executive Assessment Program, National Leadership Assessment

Program, and the Federal Executive Institute's Leadership for a Democratic Society (FEI-LDS), and is also a VHA Certified Mentor. She is currently a participant in the Senior Executive

Series Candidate Development Program (SESCDP).  Originally from Alabama, Dr. Moore is the proud daughter of U.S. Army Veterans. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends,

reading, and traveling.
