Women Veterans belong at VA. Every VA has a Women Veteran Program Manager (WVPM) on staff to advocate for you and help you navigate VA. When receiving care at VA, you can choose the gender


of your provider, including mental health providers, and you can specify your preferences for the gender of any provider referrals outside of VA. You are in control of your care and can stop


exams at any point. VA provides chaperones for sensitive exams like breast and pelvic exams. You may also request a chaperone for any exam. You belong at VA, and we will work with you to


make you feel comfortable and safe in our facilities. Women Veterans belong at VA. Every VA has a WOMEN VETERAN PROGRAM MANAGER (WVPM) on staff to advocate for you and help you navigate VA.


WVPMs also: * Create a welcoming and respectful environment for all women Veterans * Answer questions about available women’s health services and claims * Lead programs and services related


to women Veterans health care * To get connected with your local WVPM, call or text the Women Veterans Call Center at 855-829-6636, or call your local VA and ask for the WVPM. At VA, we’re


here for you. Once enrolled, you will get support from VA staff specially trained in caring for women Veterans. In addition to WVPMs, VA offers: * WOMEN’S HEALTH PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS 


trained in general primary care as well as gender-specific care such as breast health and reproductive care. You can ask to be assigned one as your primary care provider at VA.  * PATIENT


ALIGNED CARE TEAM, a team of medical professionals who can help coordinate VA’s services and offerings to align with your personal health plans and goals.   * WOMEN’S MENTAL HEALTH


CHAMPIONS, mental health professionals who have received special training in women Veterans’ mental health. * MATERNITY CARE COORDINATORS (MCCS) responsible for helping you coordinate every


step of your maternity care. MCCs can help you make appointments, manage claims, and more. * LGBTQ+ VETERAN CARE COORDINATORS trained in LGBTQ+ Veteran health who can help LGBTQ+ Veterans


coordinate their care. If you have questions about women’s health care at VA, call or text the Women Veterans Call Center (WVCC) at 855-829-6636. WVCC representatives are available Monday


through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET, and Saturday, 8:00 am to 6:30 pm ET. If you call after hours, we will return your call the next day we are open. The WVCC can help with common


questions like: * How to reconnect with VA health care if you applied a long time ago but never used your benefits * How to connect with your local VA Women’s Health contact including your


local MCC or WVPM. * How to find out what you are eligible for (including general questions about disability ratings) and other VA benefits like employment, education, and home loans * How


to refill a prescription or make an appointment Once enrolled, you will have access to the best care anywhere. VA offers: * A full spectrum of comprehensive health care services with primary


care for acute and chronic illnesses, gender-specific care such as birth control and menopause support, and preventive care such as mammograms and cervical cancer screenings Whole health 


practices like acupuncture and yoga
