The VA Providence Healthcare System was featured on the The Rhode Show, WPRI (Channel 12), on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023. The Director of VA Providence, Lawrence Connell, and VA Providence
Nutrition Department staff, Amy Barrette and Brianne Pedchenko, joined the hosts of the show to talk about the new ready to cook menu being offered to in-patient Veterans at VA Providence.
The new menu, which was launched in October, aims to provide more variety, quality, and satisfaction to the Veterans who receive care at the facility. The menu includes cooked to order
breakfast items, such as omelets and pancakes, as well as lunch and dinner options, such as salads, sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas. The Director and the Nutrition Department staff
demonstrated how they prepare the omelets using fresh ingredients and customized toppings. They also explained how the new menu is aligned with the VA’s mission to promote wellness and
disease prevention by ensuring effective nutrition education and counseling. The hosts of the WPRI Rhode Show praised the new menu and thanked the VA Providence team for their service and
dedication to the Veterans. They also invited the viewers to visit the VA Providence website to learn more about the services and programs offered by the facility. You can view their show
