Sherrie Walker is the assistant director for outpatient services for VA North Texas Health Care System. Sherrie Walker was appointed assistant director for outpatient services in Sept. 2021.

Ms. Walker has over 20 years of experience in the health care field. She began her VA career at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center as an administrative fellow in 2004. Her prior positions

includes being the strategic planner at VA North Texas, South Texas Veterans Health Care System and Central Arkansas Veterans Health Care System. As the strategic planner, she was

responsible for managing and coordinating the strategic planning process at both the facility and VISN level. She also served as the administrative officer for mental health at VA North

Texas. Prior to joining VA North Texas, Ms. Walker was the executive assistant to the medical director in Miami and the assistant director for enrollment and eligibility at the Healthcare

Eligibility Center in Atlanta, GA. Ms. Walker has chaired and/or served on numerous VISN and national workgroups and committees to include serving on the board for reviewing new CBOCs and

co-chairing national strategic planning retreats for VISN planners. Currently, she serves on the VHA Market Area Health Systems Optimization (MAHSO) change management workgroup. She is

graduate of the 2019 Health Care Leadership Development Program and is certified as a change management practitioner. Ms. Walker received her Bachelors in business management and Masters in

Health Administration (MHA) from the University of Kentucky, where she has served on alumni board of the MHA Program.
