The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (NF/SG VHS) is proud to announce the award of a SWOG/Hope Foundation VA Storefront Grant to support research efforts and expand

clinical trial opportunities for Veterans. SWOG formerly known as the Southwest Oncology Group is an organization backed by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that runs clinical trials for

adult cancers. It is one of five groups that make up the U.S. National Clinical Trials Network. The mission of SWOG Cancer Research Network is to advance medical practices in the prevention,

detection, and treatment of cancer, while also improving the quality of life for cancer survivors, mainly by designing and conducting clinical trials. Dr. Brittany Rogers Assistant Chief of

Hematology/Oncology and the primary investigator at the NF/SG VHS submitted the application that ultimately secured the SWOG/ Hope Foundation VA Storefront Grant. “Our affiliation with SWOG

has been tremendously beneficial to the development of our research program. We feel honored to now be awarded the Storefront grant,” Dr. Rogers said. “With these funds, we will be able to

hire an additional research coordinator and expand clinical trial opportunities for our Veterans. We are look forward to expanding SWOG clinical trial partnership and enrollment at other VAs

in VISN8, namely Tampa and Miami, and across the country.” The Storefront is a membership model that brings together multiple VA Medical Centers, all coordinated by a central hub and its

team This group benefits from a shared administrative core and organizational know-how, plus it combines participant data from all the individual sites. For more information on the North
