residency programs at the MVAHCS.  CHIROPRACTIC RESIDENCY PROGRAM The Miami VA Healthcare System chiropractic clinics are administratively aligned within physical medicine and rehabilitative


services. Chiropractic residents rotate in primary care, PM&R, pain medicine, mental health, neurosurgery, women’s clinic, GRECC, spinal cord injury and other sub-specialty clinics.


Residents learn from or participate in chiropractic faculty’s ongoing research projects and engage in scholarly activities at the facility. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE CHIROPRACTIC RESIDENCY


PROGRAM  DENTISTRY RESIDENCY The Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program at the Miami VA Healthcare System Center is a one-year program, accredited by the Commission on


Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association and the Miami VAHCS is accredited by The Joint Commission Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. The objectives of this program


are to provide advanced training in general dentistry, correlate and manage dental care of medically compromised patients, and to gain familiarity with hospital procedures, protocols, and


treatment of hospitalized patients. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE GENERAL DENTISTRY RESIDENCY PROGRAM PHARMACY RESIDENCY Post Graduate Year (PGY) 1 residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy


(PharmD) education and outcomes to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas, goals, and objectives. Residents who


successfully complete PGY1 residency programs will be skilled in patient care, practice management, leadership, and education, and be prepared to provide patient care, seek board


certification in pharmacotherapy (i.e., BCPS), and pursue advanced education and training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies.  PGY2 residency programs build


upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational


competency areas, goals, and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who successfully complete PGY2 residency programs are prepared for advanced patient care or other specialized
