Robert Morrow, MD, MBA, FACS, has been selected for a 120-day detail as acting chief of staff at Oscar. G. Johnson VA Medical Center effective March 2, 2025. Board-certified since 2001, Dr.

Morrow has served in various roles, from general surgeon to assistant chief of surgery. His VA career includes serving as deputy chief of staff at the VA medical center in Clarksburg, West

Virginia, where he oversaw a variety of departments while also caring for Veterans in the wound care clinic. Dr. Morrow's career also includes his service as chief of surgery at the VA

health care center in Eugene, Oregon, where he worked in both administrative and clinical spheres.  He earned his MD with honors from the University of Cincinnati and completed his general

surgery residency at the University of Colorado. Dr. Morrow also holds an MBA with a specialization in healthcare administration from Oregon Health Science University/Portland State

University and a degree in biology from Williams College. He is proficient in basic medical Spanish. Dr. Morrow combines medical expertise with effective medical staff leadership and Veteran

engagement. Outside the medical arena, he contributes to the community, coaching youth sports and participating in a community band. Dr. Morrow's background and holistic skill set make

him a valuable asset to the OGJVAMC, ensuring the highest standards of care for Veterans.
