VA Indiana Healthcare System is proud to recognize the October, 2022 DAISY Award Honoree, John Paule, RN.  "I nominate John Paule for the DAISY Award as he is truly an exceptional nurse

and extraordinary human being! John is exceptionally attentive in his care of his patients. He goes to extraordinary lengths to ensure the comfort and quality care of his patients . . .

more so than previously observed with any other nurse assigned to my care. He instills a strong sense of professionalism, attention and care of his patients. John is highly proficient in his

craft and garners the complete confidence and well-being his patients." Congratulations, John! The DAISY Award is an international award that recognizes the super-human work nurses do

for our Veterans and their families every day. This award gives staff, patients, and families a way to express their gratitude for the compassionate environment Nurses provide. Their

exceptional and compassionate care is demonstrated by the VA’s core values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect and Excellence. All VA Indiana Healthcare System RNs and LPNs are

eligible for this award. WHAT IS THE DAISY FOUNDATION? The DAISY Foundation was formed in November, 1999, by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of Idiopathic

Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). The nursing care Patrick received when hospitalized profoundly touched his family, motivating them to start The DAISY Foundation. Read more about their

heartwarming vision.
