Service) office staff with other long-time volunteers. He initially started volunteering three days a week, dropped down to two days a week, and now currently volunteers almost every day.

Huber said that all his fellow volunteers are his favorite, as they’re all brother, but Ron Hughes, an Army Veteran, who started volunteering a long time ago and has been there ever since,

is his absolute favorite. For anyone considering volunteering, Huber said, “It’s very rewarding, working with all the Veterans, and very Interesting.” His previous volunteer experience was

working at a clothing memorial, where he would meet with 170-180 clients a month, providing, new clothing like underwear, socks, pants and shoes. His work is also appreciated by Pamela

Keith, Chief, Center for Development and Civil Engagement. “The VA LAACC CDCE is pleased to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of our long- standing volunteer, Joseph “Joe ”Huber,”

said Keith. “For 11 years, Joe has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism. His warm and welcoming personality, coupled with his remarkable ability to connect

with everyone he meets, makes him an invaluable asset to our team. He’s been a helping hand, and a source of positive emergent for our Veterans and staff alike. We are deeply grateful for

his tireless efforts.” To learn more about how you can volunteer with VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, please visit
