If you disagree with our decision on your Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) application, you have options to appeal or request a review of the decision. Your

options depend on the date we issued your PCAFC decision. Read this page to understand your options and what to do next.  OPTIONS FOR DECISIONS MADE ON OR AFTER FEBRUARY 19, 2019 If you

disagree with a decision we made on your application on or after February 19, 2019, you can choose 1 of 4 options.  OPTION 1: SUPPLEMENTAL CLAIM File a SUPPLEMENTAL CLAIM if you have new and

relevant evidence that we didn’t consider before. We can help you gather any new evidence you identify (such as medical records) to support your claim. A reviewer will decide if this new

evidence changes the decision. Learn more about Supplemental Claims and how to file OPTION 2: HIGHER-LEVEL REVIEW Request a HIGHER-LEVEL REVIEW if you believe there’s an error with the

decision on your claim. You can’t submit any new evidence. The deadline for submitting a Higher-Level Review is 1 year from the date on your original decision. A higher-level reviewer will

review your decision again. This reviewer will consider the same evidence that you already submitted. Learn more about Higher-Level Reviews and how to request a review OPTION 3: BOARD APPEAL

Request a BOARD APPEAL if you want a Veterans Law Judge at the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (Board) to review your case. The deadline for requesting a Board Appeal is 1 year from the date on

your decision. When you fill out the form, you’ll need to request the type of review you want from the Board: * DIRECT REVIEW, if you don’t want to submit evidence or have a hearing *

EVIDENCE SUBMISSION, if you want to submit additional evidence without a hearing * HEARING, if you want to have a hearing with a Veterans Law Judge (with or without new evidence) Learn more

about Board Appeals and how to request a review OPTION 4: CLINICAL APPEAL Request a CLINICAL APPEAL if you want your VA health care facility’s chief of staff to review the decision. You can

submit new medical evidence to support your case. Learn more about Clinical Appeals and how to request a review  OPTIONS FOR DECISIONS MADE BEFORE FEBRUARY 19, 2019 OPTION 1: BOARD APPEAL

Request a BOARD APPEAL if you want a Veterans Law Judge at the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (Board) to review your case. To request a BOARD APPEAL, you'll need to submit a completed

Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) Notice of Disagreement (NOD) (VA Form 10-307). Get VA Form 10-307 to download Send your completed form to us at this
