Dr. Ebony McKnight is the Acting Associate Director of Nursing and Patient Care Services at VA Connecticut Healthcare System. Dr. McKnight joined the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in May

2023 as the Deputy Nurse Executive and has served as the Acting Associate Director for Nursing and Patient Care Services since June of 2024.  She brings a diverse range of experiences to the

role, including over 15 years of clinical nursing and over 10 years of progressive leadership experience within the private sector. Her leadership background includes ED/Inpatient

Operations, Outpatient Operations, Transitional Care, Long Term Care, Mental Health, Utilization Management, Case Management, Durable Medical Equipment, Ambulance and Transportation. Dr.

McKnight is an ANCC board certified Family Nurse Practitioner by training with clinical experience in Primary Care and Specialty clinics. She currently has leadership oversight on Acute

Care, Surgical Services, Sterile Processing, Hospital Education, Geriatric Services, Mental Health, and Specialty Clinic Services.  She earned her Bachelor of Science from D'Youville

college in 2008, and her Master of Science in Family Health from the University of Buffalo in 2011. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree in Organizational System-Level Leadership

from Thomas Edison State University in 2021. In 2023, Dr. McKnight acquired her Advanced Nurse Executive board certification through the ANCC.
