BOSTON , MA — VA Boston Healthcare System campuses earned national recognitions for 2023 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration

for their efforts to increase organ, eye and tissue donor registrations through the DoNation Campaign. Formerly known as the Workplace Partnership for Life Hospital Campaign, DoNation is an

initiative that unites Health Resources and Services Administration and the organ donation community with workplaces across the nation in spreading the word about the importance of donation

and increasing the number of registered organ, eye and tissue donors. The DoNation Campaign challenges workplaces across all industries to educate their staff, visitors and communities about

the critical need for organ, eye and tissue donation, and to help individuals register as organ donors. VA Boston's Brockton and West Roxbury campuses both earned Silver recognition

for conducting awareness and registration activities between October 2022 and September 2023. The full list of DoNation partners recognized is available at

save,” said Vincent Ng, director of VA Boston HCS. “We know the availability of organs does not meet the need for transplants nationwide, so it's critically important to help find more

potential donors.”  The 2023 DoNation Campaign was successful, adding 8,840 registrations to state registries, including registrations from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since its

inception in 2011, campaign partners completed 639,105 registrations and united donation advocates with representatives from their local organ procurement organizations, Donate Life America

affiliates, and state and regional hospital associations. VA Boston worked with New England Donor Services to leverage its outreach efforts. Every ten minutes, another person is added to

the national organ transplant waiting list, reaffirming the growing need for more registered organ, eye and tissue donors. For more information about the DoNation Campaign, visit
