Birmingham , AL — The American Legion proudly announces the return of its annual Christmas Caravan, a heartfelt holiday event bringing joy and festive spirit to the Veteran inpatients at the
Birmingham VA Health Care System. WHEN: TUESDAY, DEC. 12, AT 6 P.M. WHERE: 700 19TH STREET SOUTH (BIRMINGHAM VA—MAIN FACILITY) WHAT: GIFT DISTRIBUTION, SPECIAL APPEARANCES INCLUDING SANTA
CLAUS, AND MONETARY DONATIONS TO SUPPORT VETERAN SERVICES. WHY: BRINGING JOY TO VETERAN INPATIENTS, FOSTERING A SENSE OF COMMUNITY, AND REINFORCING THE LEGION'S COMMITMENT TO HONORING
OUR NATION'S HEROES. This year's caravan marks a continuation of a cherished partnership between the American Legion and the Birmingham VA. It represents a significant tradition
within the community, deeply valued by Veterans, employees, and local residents. Members from 16 local American Legion posts will come together to deliver gifts and share the warmth of the
season with those who have bravely served our country. Highlighting the evening will be a special appearance by Santa Claus, adding a magical touch to the festivities. The American Legion
will also present two substantial monetary donations to support the Voluntary Service and Blind Rehab programs at the VA, further demonstrating their commitment to the wellbeing of our
Veterans. "It’s never a good time to be in the hospital, especially during the Christmas season,” said Dr. Ladi Kukoyi, Executive Director, Birmingham VA Health Care System. “We cherish
our relationship with the American Legion, and the Christmas Caravan is more than just a holiday event; it's a symbol of the commitment to honor and support our Veterans."
