BAY PINES , FL — Bay Pines VA Healthcare System announced today the Women Veteran Program will welcome women Veterans to the organization’s C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center for an open

house and discussion forum, Wednesday, July 26. This event is part of the Women Veteran Program’s ongoing efforts to reach women service members and learn more about ways the organization’s

efforts are meeting their expectations for health care in Southwest Florida. “The feedback we receive from women Veterans across the area is critical to shaping our understanding of their

needs and expectations concerning their specific health care needs,” said Women’s Health Medical Director Dr. Rebecca Negron. “We want to hear from them about ways we can work together to

build off successes and enhance our efforts to achieve the highest levels of health care for women Veterans of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.” There are approximately 10,000 women Veterans

served across the healthcare system’s 10-county catchment area, and Dr. Negron, along with members of the Women Veteran Program, hopes that a return to in-person events will foster

opportunities to network and strengthen the women Veteran community. “The safety precautions implemented over the past few years prevented us from having face-to-face events like we had done

historically,” added Dr. Negron. “But a return to those events allows us and every woman Veteran to reengage with one another and strengthen this amazing network that bridges generations

from WWII to today.” The Women Veteran Program Open House is Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., at the Women’s Health Clinic (bldg. 100, fourth floor, 4B), at 10000 Bay Pines

Blvd., Bay Pines FL, 33744. During this time, leaders from Women’s Health will provide an overview of the clinic and hospital operations directly supporting women’s health, and attendees

will have the opportunity to speak with one another and network. The official focus group discussion begins at 6 p.m. “This is the first of many in-person opportunities we plan to have for

women Veterans throughout the rest of the year,” continued Dr. Negron. “We’re eager to have everyone together in one place and have important discussions on ways we can take this program to

new heights in the future.”
