Want to secure your place in the Guinness Book of World Records and help out shelter animals too? At 11 a.m. Saturday, the Helen Woodward Animal Center hosts the Magic Pet Parade and
adoption event at Soapy Joe’s carwash, 10383 Friars Road, in Mission Valley. The record attempt? The largest pet parade. There’s a pet photo contest too, and an adoption fair with fees
covered by Soapy Joes.
The San Diego Symphony fans out across San Diego County as part of the “Music Connects” series of free concerts at churches and community centers throughout the region. There are three shows
Saturday. Head to La Mesa’s Foothills United Methodist Church, 4031 Avocado Blvd., for 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. shows, or First Presbyterian Church of San Diego, 320 Date St. at 7:30 p.m. The
programs include Beethoven and Farrenc. Reserve seats online.
