Gentleman movie review: a film that is high on emotions and action

Director Jadesh Kumar has tried to use two untouched themes, Sleeping Beauty Syndrome and human embryo trafficking in Gentleman to weave a commercial potboiler. The result is a fairly

engaging plot that manages to hold your attention and keep you invested in the protagonist's struggles. The film begins on a dramatic note that shows the awakening of Kumbhakarna in a

Yalshagana performance. This is juxtaposed with Prajwal Devaraj's character in pursuit of a baddie and an ensuing fight. This sets the tone for the film, which tries to showcase the

Kumbhakarna that is awakened in the gentleman when he is pushed to the edge. There's also a love story, some sentiments featuring family and multiple villains in the film to ensure the

masala fare is well-balanced. Prajwal gives one of his best performances till date, as he shines especially in the emotional and vulnerable moments of the story. Nishvika Naidu once again

has a good outing. Prashanth Siddhi and Sanchari Vijay throw in gritty performances too and are the surprise packages in many ways. Baby Aaradhya needs a special mention. Gentleman tries to

tackle a novel subject that makes it intriguing. There are a few lapses, but given the canvas of masala fare these can be overlooked, as the entertainment factor in the storyline is pretty

high. And the added bonus is that the emotional scenes can be as big a draw as the action scenes in the film.
